l have a 1987 Subaru Justy; it is a terrific car that is mechanically sound Acey and has tonnes of life left.Plus it is my baby and l plan on keeping it Registered User forever.
However, the rear seat has sun damage and the driver Joined: Tuesday, 8th of June 2010, 18:30:19 seat is cracked and worn from wear. Also the carpet near the pedals has Posts: 1977 worn through. It looks ugly and l have seat covers, but it does not look as Viewed 10736 times good as having actual upholestry.
Where would l find seats for
this car?l tried Ebay but there is none. Also tried dismantling yards, but
this car is pretty rare and could not find any.Any websites you know
of?
Also, once l find some, how hard is it for a
''do-it-yourselfer'' to take the old ones and bolt new ones in?It seems
like it'd be just a number of bolts holding the seat and tracks to the
floor.

Probably get them recovered cheaper, to match your colors. Cuddle Muffin You're talking a 20 year old car, so most seats will probably be in the Registered User same condition. You can try at this site. BTW, this is a great site for Subie owners.

You could try looking in Hemmings Motor News (web site: Cutesy Whootsie hemmings.com) for replacement seats. As for the installation, I would Registered User think it should be a pretty straighforward job. Just unbolt the old seats Joined: Monday, 19th of April 2010, 04:42:51 & remove them (make sure there is no seat belt electrical wiring in the Posts: 74 way) & then install the new ones in the reverse order. The carpeting is a Viewed 19353 times little harder since you will have to remove the seats, console (if
equipped), & most of the trim around the old carpet. It is time
consuming, but when you're done, you will be the proud owner of a
new-looking interior.

I would just have your seats recovered it might save you time Sweet Tart trying to find some and you could do your own style of seat cover Registered User depending on what they offer. You could cover one seat a time that way Joined: Wednesday, 5th of May 2010, 18:06:58 it would not be so costly, and yes it is nothing more than some Posts: 2007 bolts-however if you have electric seats you may want to unhook those Viewed 16200 times first.
